Saturnia Mill Waterfalls

The Terme di Saturnia are a place of relaxation and well-being in the heart of the Tuscan Maremma.

Saturnia is only 5 km from the village of Montemerano and is certainly an unmissable attraction during a holiday in Maremma.

The waters of the spa are sulphurous and rich in beneficial natural elements, they originate on Monte Amiata and reach Saturnia through an underground path, here, from a natural spring, they come out of the subsoil at a temperature of 37.5°C with a flow rate of 500 l/ s.

The Cascate del Mulino are certainly one of the most suggestive places to visit, here the cascade of sulphurous water has dug into the underlying limestone rock, small natural pools into which the water flows and in which it is possible to immerse yourself and relax cradled by the warm thermal waters.

The Terme di Saturnia spa complex offers swimming pools, hot tubs, a spring water pool, wellness center and golf course.

OWNERSHIP OF THE WATERS OF SATURNIA

In addition to their incredible beauty, the Cascate del Mulino di Saturnia are particularly loved and appreciated also for the beneficial and curative properties of the thermal waters.

The waters of Terme di Saturnia are sulphurous-carbonic-sulphate-bicarbonate-alkaline-earthy, born on Monte Amiata and after a long underground journey, during which they are enriched with precious minerals, they flow from the natural spring of Saturnia at a temperature of 37.5 °C and a flow rate of 500 l/s.

Due to their particular composition, the thermal waters of Saturnia are particularly effective in the treatment of dermatological diseases - psoriasis, dermatitis, acne - they have an important natural peeling, exfoliating and disinfectant effect on the skin, and are very effective in the treatment of respiratory disorders , circulatory, locomotor and metabolism apparatus.

VISITORS' OPINIONS ON THE MILL FALLS

The Church of San Giorgio in Montemerano is exceptional, a real museum. The polyptych of the altar is simply gorgeous and the rest is just as good. The curiosity is that of the "cat flap" an altarpiece depicting the Madonna that a priest transformed into a cellar door complete with a passage for the house cat. This church alone is worth the trip to Montemerano....
